This privacy policy explains which personal data Dokmarket collects when you visit dokmarket.com, create an account or place an order, why we use it, and what your rights are. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law.
1. Who is responsible for your data?
Dokmarket (dokmarket.com) is operated by:
LE PALAIS MALIBRAN
Chaussée de Mons 206
1070 Anderlecht
Belgium
VAT No. 1008.394.875
Email: info@dokmarket.com
For any question about your personal data, contact us at info@dokmarket.com.
2. Which data do we collect?
- Account data: your email address and password (stored encrypted), and the details you add to your account such as name, billing and delivery addresses and phone number.
- Order data: the products you order, billing and delivery address, phone number, email address, order history, invoices, and communication about your order.
- Business account data: if you register a business (B2B) account: company name, VAT or business registration number and business phone number.
- Payment data: payments are handled by our payment provider Stripe. We never see or store your full card number or bank login details; we only receive confirmation of the payment and its status.
- Messages: what you send us by email or through a contact form, and your return or complaint requests.
- AI shopping assistant: the questions you type into the assistant and its answers. Conversations are stored so you can find them again in your history (linked to your account, or to a cookie if you are not logged in).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and the source of your visit, which our server records to keep the site secure and working.
3. Why do we use your data, and on what legal basis?
- To carry out your order (delivery, invoicing, returns, warranty, customer service) — performance of the contract with you.
- To create and manage your account — performance of the contract / your request.
- To meet our legal obligations, in particular accounting and tax rules — legal obligation.
- To answer your questions and handle complaints — our legitimate interest in providing good service.
- To keep the website secure, prevent fraud and understand where our orders come from — our legitimate interest.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal effects for you. We only send you commercial emails if you have agreed to receive them.
4. Who do we share your data with?
We only share data with parties that need it to provide our service, and only the data they need:
- Stripe (payment processing);
- Delivery companies that ship your order (name, address and, where needed, phone number or email for delivery notifications);
- Hostinger (hosting of the website and of our email);
- OpenAI, only when you use the AI shopping assistant: the text you type is sent to OpenAI to generate the answer. Please do not enter sensitive personal information in the assistant;
- Google Fonts: the fonts of the website are loaded from Google, which means your browser shares your IP address with Google when loading a page;
- Authorities, when we are legally required to do so.
Some of these providers (for example Stripe, OpenAI and Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. How long do we keep your data?
- Account data: for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
- Orders and invoices: for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law (up to 10 years).
- Messages and customer service requests: for as long as needed to handle your request, and up to 2 years afterwards.
- AI assistant conversations: until you ask us to delete them or, for visitors without an account, as long as the related cookie exists (up to 1 year).
6. Cookies
Dokmarket only uses cookies that are needed for the website to work or that belong to the shop itself. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
- Shopping cart and session cookies (WooCommerce) — remember the contents of your cart and your session.
- Login cookies (WordPress) — keep you logged in to your account.
- Language cookie (pll_language) — remembers the language you chose, for 1 year.
- Order source cookies (sbjs_*) — record how you reached our shop (for example via a search engine), so we know where our orders come from.
- AI assistant cookie (techmarket_ai_guest_id) — links your assistant conversations to your browser if you are not logged in, for 1 year.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block them, parts of the shop (such as the cart or logging in) may not work.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted, where we are not legally required to keep it;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw a consent you have given.
To exercise these rights, email info@dokmarket.com. We reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. You can also change most of your details yourself in your account.
8. Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures: the website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it.
9. Complaints
If you believe we are not handling your data correctly, please contact us first so we can solve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy, for example when our services change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
